Continuing Education Credits

You can receive Continuing Education credit for any of the five modules for your CPA license in North Carolina and for your licenses through the NC Department of Insurance. To receive credit in other states, you must check with that state's Board of Accountancy or Department of Insurance.

For NC CPA CPE
NC State is a registered sponsor with the North Carolina Board of Accountancy which means you can obtain CPE credit through the CFP classes you take. North Carolina uses a self report system for CPE credit for CPA's. This means that you must submit your own hours (we cannot do it for you). See the form at the bottom of the page for more details and directions. You will need to provide a Certificate of Attendance which we can provide upon request. Every 50 minutes of course time counts as 1 credit.

For NC Department of Insurance Credit
We must report your hours to the NC Department of Insurance. If you would like credit for one of the classes, you must provide the following information prior to the last day of class:
1. Your Full Name.
2. Your national producer number.  To locate this number, go to: https://sbs-nc.naic.org/Lion-Web/jsp/sbsreports/AgentLookup.jsp; type in your name and submit.  Your number will appear.
3. Payment of $72.  Make check payable to: MVA, Inc.
4. You will receive 36 credits for each module.
5. CE rosters are submitted 14 days after the end of class and can not be amended.
6. NCSU and Mary Cardello are not responsible for students' failure to submit a timely request form.
7. Students will be provided CE certificate from NC Dept. of Insurance upon completion and acceptance of roster.

For out of state continuing education requirements, you must check with that state's board of accountancy as each state has different requirements.

Here is a link to each state's Board of Accountancy. If you need help finding one in particular, please email us and we will inquire for you.
